I am currently running Red Hat 7.2 (kernel 2.4.7-10). I am also currently running Samba 2.2.1a. I downloaded RPM version Samba-2.2.3a-20020206.i386.rpm from www.samba.org. I tried to upgrade Samba using the command "rpm -Uvh samba-2.2.3a-20020206.i386.rpm" When I run this command I get conflicting errors with the current version of Samba that is installed on my box. Which RPM of Samba do I need to install in order to upgrade the version I am currently running? Also, what does the # 20020206 indicate? Thank you for your help.
Summary: - HI! I WANTED 2 UPGRADE MY KERNEL FROM 2.4.7-10 TO 2.6.0-1.104. I GOT THE KERNEL IN A MAGZINE'S CD (PCQuest Feb. Edition) I PUT THE CD, MOUNT THE DRIVE AND ISSUED THE COMMAND: rpm -ivh kernel-2.6.0-...
Summary: Instead of removing an older version so that you can install a newer version, why not use the upgrade option "rpm -Uvh?" Or you can force it to install with rpm -ivh --nodep gaim-0.76-0mdk9.2.i586.r...
