Hi
I'm trying to upgrade MySQL 4.0 to 4.1 on Slackware 10
Read the README file and told me to go here for upgrading instructions

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/Upgrading-from-4.0.html

But the documentation is kinda (for lack of a better word Idiotic)

One point talks about if i'm using windows, there is no installer for the binaries
then the next section goes "after upgrading.."

Was there some missing line or something because it never gave instructions on how to update - goes directly to post upgrade.

Money not an issue?
Where do you live and when are you not home?
I'm not gonna rob you, I'm just gonna steal some stuff

I don't know about MySQL (I use postgres myself) but when updating my slackware computers I use either swaret or if compiling from source checkinstall in order to create a tgz package.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, perhaps dumping all your data and schema first before upgrading would allow you to at least reimport it if you find the original databases not compatible...?
