I have a Dell PowerEdge 1750 installed with Redhat 9. The server was configured to do hard disk mirroring. Now the hard disk is running out of space, I need to upgrade the hard disk. How can I achive that?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Lau:
It sounds like you only have two drives and they are mirrored (RAID 1.) It seems like whoever originally setup the system did not anticipate needing more space. "If" you only have two mirrored drives, the best option is two new larger drives (if you want to maintain mirroring) and a full reload. If you replace one of the mirrored drives with a larger one, the rebuild will only partition and make an identical partition to the size of the smaller drive. It would be very odd, but you could then make a new partition with the remaining space and copy some of your data over to it. Why so robust a server and Redhat 9.0? As far as cost to a business RedHat Enterprise Server 4.0 does not cost that much (starts at $349) or if for some odd reason your company cannnot afford it I suggest you look at CentOS 4. It is free, 100 percent compatible and created from the RedHat Enterprise source code. "If" your server has 5 drive bays (do not have to be all removable) a better option may be to have the OS on mirrored (RAID 1) drives and have the data on three removable drives in a RAID 5 configuration.
