unzipping in Linux

This is a how to question I am just switching over from a windows and I cannot uncompress some of files. Natulis says is does not have a decompresser. Any ideas?

There is a console zip decompressor called unzip. It's a simple, straight forward non graphical tool.

Open a window and at the prompt, just type

unzip -x "filename"
-or-
man unzip (for more info!)

There are also some graphical tools (eg KArchiver) but I've found the command line version as above much easier to use.

NB You can also get linux command line versions of ace, rar etc.

Try to asociate .zip files to KArchiver if you want to
use graphical tool directly from Nautilus.
