Hi I am new to LINUX. I am trying to install an Audio software for recording purposes. I have downloade the .tgz file from the net. Kindly advise me how to UNTAR this File. As I am new to LINUX pls give me step by step instructions. thank you in advance

Move into the directory that contains the .tgz file. Supposing the file is somefile.tgz, type the following exactly as shown (without quotes) and press enter "tar -xzf somefile.tgz"
