Uninstalling Boot Loader

To whom it may concern,
I just recently installed Mandrake Linux 8.1 to the primary slave on my main home computer. I presumed that it would prompt me to specify the pararmeters of my boot options (that is if I want to install a boot loader, what boot loader I want to install, if I want to create a boot disk, etc.) but it just automatically installed the default boot loader (LILO, graphical version, I believe). I'm pretty sure that it was installed to the primary master (C:) drive which is a FAT32 drive with important information on it. I would be pretty devastated if I lost the information on it trying to get rid of the bootloader. Does anybody know how to uninstall the bootloader without losing the information on the drive, either through Windows or Linux? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Update: I'm not entirely certain if the bootloader was written to the mbr of hda or hdb. I don't generally fool with boot loaders or Mandrake. If I were to physically remove one of the drives to find out, would I risk losing any data on the current Windows drive? Thanks again, in advance.

the better way is to not uninstall lilo.
Most of us multiboot - Windoze and Linux
boot linux, do a little reading: ==man lilo AND man lilo.conf. ==The HOWTOs in your linux: --Multiboot-with-LILO --mini LILO
google "lilo tutorial"
Edit lilo.conf, run lilo
