unable to read CD/DVD

recently i installed fedora core 6 (64bit)in 2 AMD machine, it has LG DVD writer. But when i insert any CD/DVD it is not automount the drive, neither it shows any CD/dvd in filesystem, but when i do same in other system it automount and explore the CD/DVD,
any solution for this

Check and see if a mount point exists. A mount point is a folder that the system uses to mount the device. When you click on a device from the Computer folder, you are redirected to the mount point folder. The computer folder displays all devices that have mount points. I have Ubuntu Linux on my computer, and the mount point for my CD drive is /media/cdrom0. The folder might be different on your system (/mnt is also where devices are mounted on some Linux distributions). Check the properties of the CD-ROM icon and see what its mount point is listed as. Also try running dmesg in a command prompt. Dmesg gives you a list of events involving hardware . If it says somthing like "mount point ... not found", try creating that folder.

Doesn't fedora put mounts in a folder called media???

Did you install the system from that drive?

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

Thanxs friends, but CD/DVD start working automatically :-() after 2 days, without changing any setting,
Fedora has media dir. and also have /dev/pts entery in fstab, but it was not showing any icon of CD/dvd, which get solve itself after days.
