Udev - extras

hi, i've just installed ubuntu netbook remix and i'm tryin to install a huawei modem e1550, i think i have found a way but when i follow the command; sudo apt-get install udev-extras it says; E: Couldn't find package udev-extras does anyone know how to get these, I'm a beginner when it comes to linux ubuntu thanks

You wrote that you tried: "sudo apt-get install udev-extras" But the instructions show it as: "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install udev-extras" http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.ph... BTW, are you connected to the internet when you attempt running the commands?
