hello all, i have my computer with windows xp and i want to dual boot with ubuntu 7.10. I have a 200GB drive with an IDE interface that is my primary system disk, i have windows xp home currently installed on that drive. recently, i just added a 400GB drive to my system for a little extra storage. what i want to do was install ubuntu on the 400GB drive, with a 100GB partition. i booted from the CD and during setup i partitioned/formated my 400GB disk to install ubuntu(100GB partition for linux). i got the "installation complete" message and i clicked the restart now button. when the system restarted, i didnt get an option to boot into ubuntu, it automatically went to windows xp. why dont i get an option to go to ubuntu?
additionally, when i was in setup for ubuntu it didn't "see" my 200GB IDE drive so all i could choose from was the 400GB drive(not a big deal) for installing ubuntu. could this be the problem? i wondered if that was the issue, maybe it didnt install a LILO or a GRUB boot loader, so i set my BIOS to boot from the 400GB SATA drive before the 200GB IDE and it still booted into windows xp.so, i dont know what the problem is. i think the problem may be that i have two differnt interfaces with my HDD? i may be wrong with that conjecture..
any advice? im running out of ideas!

Perhaps the answer is wubi.
If ubuntu didn't see the 200gb drive, I think that could be something to do with it.
Try using the live cd of ubuntu, & see if you can see both drives, then try the install from the live cd.
Before posting try google. Backup. Use anti virus software.

Download the live cd iso file. Burn to cd, & boot, there is an icon on the desktop to install.
