Hello, I have just installed Ubuntu 7.10 and am enjoying it so far. But 3D screensavers are lagging very badly and I want to install the official and latest ATi drivers. I got the file but I see many many different tutorials. I want one that will work. When I installed the driver the first time (this is my second reinstall of Ubuntu) it gave a maximum of 800X600 resolution and very poor performance. On top of that Compiz did not work. Can someone give me a tutorial on how to install the ATi drivers properly so my screensavers work and so compiz will still work?
