Well hello everybody.

I recently installed Ubuntu 9.04 (which fixed my problems with kubuntu) and am now very thoroughly confused.

*deep breath*:
HOW THE HECK DO I ACCESS MY WINDOWS HARD DRIVE?!

kubuntu at least allowed me to create a link to my Hard Drive (which both Windows AND Ubuntu are installed on).
Not only does Ubuntu not even SHOW my HDD, when I try to access the root folder, I get a message saying I'm not owner! I'M THE ONLY USER ON HERE, FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD!!!
All my files (media, etc.) are on that hard drive. I don't have enough space to download 'em all again onto Ubuntu. (Only approx. 6 GB left in Windows, 13 GB on Ubuntu.) I really want those files! (Oh and BTW I already tried the media folder, all it shows is Toshiba System Recovery and my D drive [which has the Windows Recycle bin stuff on it], and an "HDDRECOVERY" folder.)

Help would be appreciated!

I hope Windows 7 is better than Vista.
The Ubuntu project sure is.

Never mind! Turns out that the folder "host" in "File System" or Computer contained the 'link' so to speak to my HDD.

Problem Solved!

I hope Windows 7 is better than Vista.
The Ubuntu project sure is.

Go to Computer -> File System (may also appear as "/") -> host (if you have a WUBI install) and voila, it's your Windows partition.

However, if you don't have a WUBI install, I'm sure you could still find it as a disk in / - or File System.

I hope Windows 7 is better than Vista.
The Ubuntu project sure is.
