Hi Guys

i downloaded new amsn version 0.83, For this version it was written on amsn.sourceforge.net that it works after 15th october too. i installed it successfully but now when i try to run it , it says it needs to have tsl to get connected. and it says my system lacks Tsl. It offers me to download Tsl.
At this time the option of linux-x86 installation is highlighted. when i press ok, nothing happens, it doesnt starts downloading anything, inface it give me an error screen saying "Cant Read "TOK" no such variable". and after this nothing happens.

downloaded the tsl library and gave the path in preferences -> application. but still nothing happened. After that i download tsl in source form and tried to install it but it didnt get installed, cuz it fails to find a directory /usr/load/openssl.

does any one has any idea whats going wrong with me?

Thanks for ur precious time

Good Day

I have recently installed this without any problems (Mandrake 8.2 and Redhat 8). "TOK" variable sounds to me like an issue with TCL/TK, which I believe is what amsn is written in and is required to run it. Are the TCL and TK packages installed? Do this at a command prompt to see:

# rpm -q tcl

# rpm -q tk

(should return tcl & tk and version numbers)

If one or both isn't installed, install them. Find the CDs they are on, and enter this at a command prompt:

# rpm -i tcl.i586.rpm

and

# rpm -i tk.i586.rpm

(replacing tcl.i586.rpm and tk.i586.rpm with the correct filenames from the CDs)

If you had done a full installation, these packages would have been installed. I always try to do a full install of the distro to avoid these types of problems.

Good luck.
