tracepath issue

CPU/Ram: 1.4 GHz P4/512 DDR

while using tracepath at times during the command output there is written "no reply" and then it keeps coming as in over every hop i suppose. What does no reply means

Tracepath doesn't require superuser privileges and doesn't have as many options as traceroute.
