When I start a gnome-terminal from menu it has size
larger than when It is maximized.
The effect is apparent when I do a manpage: the last
lines of the display is hidden by the gnome-panel. But
it will be displayed correctly when the terminal is
maximized. What can be done to fix it? tia

Can you not resize the window and then save settings?
