Hi, I am using Redhat Linux 6.2. The telnet service work before until recently... When i telnet into the box, it gives me the message:

Connecting to 192.168.1.50.. Count not open a connection to host: Connect failed

Anyone has any suggestion? I have been trying to look in /etc/rc.d/rc3.d for a service related with telnet so I can restart the service, but I found nothing so far. Any one has any idea?

Thanks

The service you are looking for is in the /etc/rc.d/init.d/ directory and is either inet or xinetd. Try to start or restart these.
You will have too create soft links to these from the /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/ directory or if you have the window manager running kde use ksysv in root if you want them to start at boot

Regards

Martin
