Telnet from Windows to Redhat linux

I have a small home network. One of the boxes I am running Redhat 8.0 and another one is running win2000. From the win2000, I can telnet into the linux box using the linux box's IP address. If I want to use a name instead of IP address, how will I be able to do so? in other words, for example, I can use 'telnet 192.168.1.43' but I cannot use 'telnet homelinux' where homelinux is the host name of the linux box

2 ways to go upon. one would be with smb. you can have your tux box broadcast a name in your workgroup. then u could conect to it using that ip. but your lazy hehe.
the other way would be with bind. making a zone file but then u need to use your dns server a sprimary cause it wont find it in your isps dns.

You could be even lazier and dump an entry in an lmhosts file on the windoze box, eg:
192.168.1.43 homelinux
You should find it here: c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
