Can any one help me how to access, setup telnet and learn Linux through telnet? I have putty.exe on my desktop but I am unable to configure that out. Any help please.

Give SSH a go. It's more secure than telnet, easy to set up (if any configuration is actually needed) and it comes with most distros these days.
If it is already installed, try #/etc/init.d/sshd start to start the service, give putty your linux IP and port (22 for SSH) and all going well you should be able to log in and get a prompt. You can then learn linux to your hearts content!=o)
