Hi all, I have a strange TCP error when trying to connect to an Apache on a Linux Machine. The Lan Config is as follows : A NT Server, Windows 98 Clients and one Linux client. The Linux client answers to ping requests. But everytime I try to set up a TCP connection from a Windows Client (whatever the port), I receive the following TCP error : Error 10071 WSAEREMOTE Too many levels of remote in path I found the error description : Berkeley description: Item is not local to the host. A server has attempted to handle an NFS request by generating a request to another NFS server, which is not allowed. WinSock description: No equivalent. The WinSock API does not provide access to the Network File System application protocol, so this error is irrelevant to WinSock. WinSock functions: But I'm not using any NFS system ! At least, I should receive a "Connection refused" message. Could someone help me ? Thanks in advance. Tom.

Is your windows box trying to read/write files from the linux system? If yes, no way, you will have to setup Samba. if no, be sure that all systems are in the same domain and subnet. Hope this helps you, good luck.
