.tar install (how to ?)

ok yes I am a nebie at this linux stuff but I am
determined to get this down I have taken a .tar.gz file
and unziped it to a .tar file and now I can't seem to
figure the rest out.( I am tring to install a kde theme
) I have the file in my home directory and I am running
rh 7.3, where do I go from here to install the theme.
Any help would be greatly appriciated

tar -xvf kde-theme.tar
(or whatever the name of the file is...)

Then, you either have to run a script file
to install it or compile it for your system!
