SUSE linux...network collisions

OS: SUSE PRO
CPU/Ram: 2.4\1gig

Hi ,I am running SUSE PRO and I am connected to a colleges network...i have been kicked off because they said I am having collisions...I know its only with Linux because whenever I use windows they said my connection is fine..what should I do so i can make SUSE not have any collisions

r u using dhcp on your linux box? or is it static ip addressing scheme?
