SuSE Linux 8 Pro - Install hangs braille

I am getting frustrated with a pretty comical issue... I can't install the OS because it is looking for braille display... It just keeps on looking, in the mean time I am f***d and I can see, can you image the poor blind man tring to install it. Crap! Anyhow. I have PIII 450 Intel motherbard with Phoenix Bios (home made system) and 128RAM. Windows2000 ran fine on it, so you'd figure Linux wouldn't have an issue. The installation hangs as it looks for the braille display. I have tried all of the installation options, removing the mouse, disable the bios.vbe probe, rescue mode. Nothing. Can some one shed some light on this?
My installs seemed to stall at that point as well. I left it alone while SUSE collected it's marbles and then it continued with the install.
If it hangs for longer than a minute then you may have a problem.

It installs perfectly alright on the machine I do not want it in, but not on the desired one...
