I'm new to Linux but it already drives me crazy! I've tested some SCO products that require shared libraries on SuSE 7.0-2.2.16. Everything works fine after copying SCO libraries onto Linux and loading iBCS module. Now I cannot make SuSE 8.0-2.4.18 to do the same! iBCS has been split up into several abi modules that are loaded automatically after starting SCO program, but shared libraries cannot be located. For instance, SCO "ls" command requires /lib/libprot.so.1, /usr/lib/libsocket.so.1 and /usr/lib/libc.so.1 and ends with error "dynamic linker: error opening /lib/libprot.so.1" regardless of its existence. SCO "cat" command requires only libc.so.1 and raises error "cat: cannot stat stdout: Invalid argument (error 22)". Since readelf shows /usr/lib/libc.so.1 as program interpreter, seems that trouble comes from abi - libc.so.1 misunderstanding. This is ELF files problem, COFFs are OK.
