I want to write a script to record streaming audio into and mp3 or ogg at a certain time each week (online radio in mp3) how do i do it. (i'm not exactly proficient in script writing)

Should be doable with mplayer. this site has instructions on how to set it up.
You might also be able to kludge something together with vsound. This depends on other applications to actually stream the audio though, so it might be a bit more complicated.

Summary: You need either the paid-for version of Real Player (Real Director I think its called) or you can get 3rd party apps for windoze that will save streaming audio....can't remember which one I've use...
