St0 linux rescue

hi

In rescue mode of linux 7.1 i want to access scsi tape to restore the backup.

there is no st0 device listed under /dev directory.lsmod also doesnt display st module.i have tried loading module by 'insmod st0' ,'insmod ide-scsi' ...seems to be not working....

need urgent help on this pls

If you want support for a device, build the kernel with the appropriate driver linked.

There are tutorials that go through how to build a kernel.
