Just got SprintBroadband and was wondering if anyone has managed to get the connection working through linux. Basic setup is: broadband modem which is connected into my 8 port hub, then into my nic.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well instead of being lazy and hoping someone
else will do the work for you, you could just
have searched on google.com (the best search
engine anywhere) or better yet,
rootprompt.org With one quick search I found
a nice little Linux-xDSL tutorial.http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/tutorials/1454/1/

As far as broadband, what do you mean? DSL,
Cable, T1, Frame Relay, T3, Satellite,
Hamster ball?I'm assuming your broadband uses DHCP instead
of PPPoE. I've had not experience with PPPoE
so I can't help there. Linux has a small
problem with DHCP in that it times out after
a couple hours and you need to reset it. I
have a crond script that runs every two hours
to do this. There are other programs such as
DHCPCD Keep Alive (or something like that)
that will do the same.To Setup dhcpcd, you just need to activate
it. In Slackware this is easy. Edit
/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 and change DHCP="NO" to
DHCP="YES" You're done. In RedHat, I assume
you use LinuxConf to perform the same
operation. Reboot or kill -HUP and you're done.
