I recently loaded Redhat 7.3 on a system with a soundblaster Live 5.1 card. When I play a music CD I have to turn the volume all the way up on the speakers to hear anything at all.......any Ideas?.....go easy on me. I'm still new to Linux.

You should have a program in the menu (under multimedia) called kmix. Run this, it's the volume control.
