Hi,

Firstly check to see if the driver u loaded for u're card ( assuming u loaded it as a module) is actually loaded into the kernel. U can do this by typing 'lsmod' at the command prompt as root.

If u see the module loaded, but u're card is still dead, then u may have bigger problems to deal with here. U should probably contact the person who coded up the driver in the first place for help.

Before u do that however, there is a program called 'sndconfig' run this as root from the commandline and see if u get better results, Since u may not be configuring it correctly by ureself.

I don't know of any other suggestions I can make here except that u should consult the Sound howto for more details. U can find it at:
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Sound-HOWTO/

By the way, I cant find any supported card of the description PCMEDIA. U're using the wrong driver maybe?

Kannan
