I'm very new to Linux and installed Redhat 7.2 on my system recently. All appeared to go well. KDE appears to function at 100%....audio, video, printing, web, etc, etc. When I boot into GNOME I have NO sounds at all ---- no audio. What could be the problem, can I fix it, where do I go to fix it, and HOW?..........thanks in advance for any help.

check the gnome control panel type thing, and look for the start sound server on startup option. Make sure that is on. Good Luck.

I have got the same problem before. Check if the soundserver is running, also if you have the latest driver for your sound card. Get a new version of XMMS if you can (i have sound problems with the old xmms while my soundserver was still functioning, i get a newer version and everything works perfectly)
