Hi I am a coplete newbie I am tying to using knoppix live CD to access the Internet. I do not have a Ethernet card so I am using USB cable direct to Cable Modem , It works with window XP So how do I set up linux to work with my USB Cable mode? my stats are here

Search for usb webstar linux.
I doubt that anyone wrote a driver for that but keep looking.
The only way I'd know would be to run an vm that allowed access and use it as a proxy. Kind of a long way around.

You may not find a USB driver for that Cable Modem. IIUC, it has an ethernet port. If it does, get a NIC card and install it. Connect the computer to the modem with a cat5 cable. A search of local brick & mortar shops here finds a 3com card for $13.00 US and several others for under $30.00 US.
