I need a small linux partition that I can hide on my hard drive where I can view jpg's. How would I go about doing this?
I am not sure exactly what you need... you want linux on your machine just to view jpg pictures?? if you do you can make your own linux distro http://www.linuxfromscratch.org and just build the minimum system and then install jpeg viewer. Or you could install redhat minimum install and install jpeg viewer that may work too.. (although slackware would be better)

Yes, I plan to set it up to require a boot disk to get into Linux. From there, I can view my jpg files, and not much else is my plan. I will check out linuxfromscratch.org, does anyone else have any other suggestions? Perhaps a linux on a floppy that I can put on the hard drive?
I'm not sure what you're trying to hide, but if you want it truly protected rather than slightly obscured, you'll have to encrypt the files or ideally the entire partition. If you want to set up encryption, I can give you some more info. You could even have a file in a Windows filesystem that's actually an encrypted Linux filesystem.
You should also consider a Linux bootable CD like Knoppix. That way the hard drive would only have to have the actual data on it.

Sure, I'm interested in this.
However, I'm pretty sure I'd be able to hide what I'm doing this other way too. However it is done is fine by me.

Summary: All you need to do is to copy the boot image from your cdrom to a floppy, and then boot from that. You can use rawrite in windows or dd in Unix. Sometimes, it requires more than one floppy. Here's how...
