I have a Linux Slackware software, which I want to install on HP m/c with OS winMe.
Problem at my side is that, even after instalation completed and providing path of Window in Autoexec.BAT file, the Linux is not started. I have asked to ask an option for linux and Windows in Autoexec bat. But Windows never asked me that option. If I just run Bat file, then it askes the option but linux will not start. So I want to know how it is get started. Which file is to be updated for asking options.
I have kept loadlin executable in WinMe partition, for which path is specified in BAT file.

1. Slackware cannot be started from the autoexec.bat file.
2. Slackware is best installed on a separate drive, but definitely a different partition.
3. You cannot run Windows (any version) and Slackware simultaneously. Yes, you can have them both loaded on the same system at the same time, but they cannot be run at the same time.
4. During the Slackware install, if you get that far, be sure and NOT load/write LILO to the MBR, write it to the / (root) partition.
5. You will need to sacrafice at least 1.5gb of your current harddrive space to Slackware, pretty much the minimum requirement. I.E. it needs its own partition, or even better, a dedicated harddrive, 1.5gb or better.
6. Hope this has not scared you off, good luck.
