Hello,
I'm a linux newbie. I want to install slackware 9. But, according slackware.org I have to download few disk images to install it properly and I simply don't know what kind of disk image or how many of them
I should download. My previous distro was suse and I didn't get any such problem as I can boot directly from my cdrom/writer. Config of my sys is;
p3-1ghz, 40gb hdd of ide type, 10/100 eathernet card and ps/2 scroll mouse(2 buttons anda wheel).
Plz tell me which of disks I should download or two .iso images from linuxiso.org will suffice.Also at this point if u kindly tell me what a torrent is. I tried to download first iso image from slack.org but got torrent instead. So I tried another site using google
and found linuxiso.org. But here I simply can't understand the purpose of second iso image as slackware.org offers only
one iso (the first iso image) as free. I have to buy the second,third and fouth cdrom if need them. So What kinda disk it is ?
I am sorry to place more than questions but I don't see any possible clue around and everything is tangling up gradually.Thank you

If you want to use Slackware 9.0, then there is only one disc. However, if you want the latest version of Slackware Linux, then it would be 9.1 which comes with two CDs... The second CD contains KDE, Gnome, and extra stuff. Therefore, you can have Slackware Linux 9.1 on your system with the first CD if you don't want to install anything else on the second CD, and you can download those CDs at www.linuxiso.org!!!
