Comment:

I am running Ubuntu 8.10 on a laptop with Compiz, and more specifically Desktop Cube. I have a .png image set for the Skydome background image. When I close the laptop's lid I have it set to Suspend. However, when I take it out of Suspend, the Skydome image is gone - there is just black. Toggling Desktop Cube off and back on fixes the problem, but why is this happening? How can I remedy it? Thanks.

That is odd. How do you have it set up in compiz? do you have the box next to skydome checked? I made that mistake once.

Yes, I do have the skydome box checked. In fact, I don't have to toggle Desktop Cube to get the skydome back - I can also toggle the setting for Animations. Any idea what's going on? Thanks.
