Comment:

I have just installed Red Hat 8 and Windows XP Pro as a dual boot system.

1) I have 3 partitions. A Windows Parition NTFS (20GB), a Linux Partition (20GB) and a RAW partition (40GB). I want to convert the RAW to FAT so I can read & write to that partition from both OS's but FAT only allows me to have about 2GB. How can I set it so I can read/write and have it 40GB in size?

2) When I start my computer it comes up with a Red Hat screen where I can choose which OS to open with. At the moment the defult is Red Hat how do I make the defalt Windows?

Use parted tool
Follow this example:

# parted
GNU Parted 1.4.24
...
Using /dev/hda
(parted) mkfs 4 fat //4 is minor, fat is fat :)
Warning: Would you like to use FAT32 for this filesystem? It is much more
efficient with your disk space, but is not compatible with early versions of
Windows 95 and Windows NT. Only select yes if you only use Linux, BSD, MS
Windows 98 and/or MS Windows 95 B.
Yes No Cancel ? No //yes-if you want to do that
(parted) quit
....
