Hey, Could someone help me with an easy to do setup procedure so that I can install a mail server... I think its already installed only need to activate and to configure it to my domain. ozane.net
thanks,

Ok...lets see...This will be easy. You just need to set up DNS and configure your sendmail and simply turn on pop3 mail. To setup your dns, go here:
http://linux.box.sk/newsread_print.php?newsid=736
And stop at step 22. As you can tell that link shows you howto set DNS with a fake domain, but when they say to type 'yourname.com' (which is bogus), type in your true domain. That's the easiest guide I've found. Next you need to configure sendmail and turn on ipop3.
Follow these directions:

It's pretty straight foward. Good luck with it. I really don't recheck my posts so if you need help just email me directly @ gianspi@gsent.org
Oh, and make sure you open port 25 and 110 on your box. Use the command 'lokkit' <-hope that works in slackware btw :-/
Warm Regards,
Gian Spicuzza

You could always give webmin a go, it makes configuration and administrator a breeze. www.webmin.com

I have never had a problem installing webmin on slackware, have done it a few times now and it is nice and simple. I also have a couple of production slackware servers here at work, both of which have webmin installed.
