setup internet

I'm new at linux, and this is probably something simple. But how you set up an internet connection with linux knoppix? Have a cable modem.

You can goto the Start menu and Lost & Found (I think) find Network. There you can enter in your NIC preferences - DHCP or Static IP. if DHCP and you don't know your DNS IP's then I think you can have DHCP gather this info. If static IP's are needed you will need to know this info. YOu can probably find it in your Windows config. Then set your NIC card (eth0) to active. Then goto a shell (command line) and type service network restart
