I purchased a new computer and put SuSe 8.0 on it. Of course the modem installed was a winmodem...so I removed it and put an ActionTec CW PCI v.92 modem into the computer. That modem supposedly supports SuSE/linux. Well, I still can't get it to recogonize the modem..either automatically or manually.
I'm just not sure I'm doing anything right at this point.
Can someone walk me through what I should be doing to get this modem to work?

I had an Actiontec CW v90 modem. Suse 8.0 detected it as a "unknown AT modem". I simply went through the configuration wizard in YAST2.

If for some reason YAST2 does not detect it then Actiontec has instructions for setting it up in Linux.
