I go to college and have it's ethernet system working in Windows ME. But when i try to put them in, in Red Hat 7 using gnome, all the settings are described differently and i dont know what numbers to put where. is there a site that clarifies all this?
Thanks,
Nick

numbers you should need to set up network in linux.

ip address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ie. 23.423.23.45
subnet : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ie. 255.255.255.0
gateway ip: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ie. 23.423.23.1

once you network card is setup properly and the settings are correct. Try pinging a computer on the network or a website if you have an internet connection. Email me if you have any quesitons.
