To all Linux experts out there. I have installed Redhat 7.2 successfully. I clicked on the enable NFS and SMB during installation. However, everytime I try to enable the rpc.nfsd, it gives out an error message that nfssvc function not implemented and fs nfs not supported. Doesn't this service get set during installation? I need to make my Redhat server as an nfs client to a UNIX server. I tried recompiling the kernel but can't get pass the first make makefile, since I don't know what to put in the makefile. Is there a difference between Redhat and other Linux? I'm using 2.4.7-10 kernel, are there patches that I need to run?
