Hi, I want to do the server installation for redhat linux 6.2, and I'm a little confused about one thing. On the Redhat site, it says that IF i chose NOT to do manual partition of hds, then installation would erase ALL data regardless of which OS it belongs to on my harddrive. From this, I gathered that if i were to chose my partitions manually, then installation would not erase all my data. But, later on it says "Warning:A server-class installation will remove ALL existing partitions of ANY type on ALL existing hard drives of your system. All drives will be erased of all information and existing operating systems, regardless if they are Linux partitions or not! " Note it doesnt say whether I chose my partition or not...
So anybody know what's the deal with it? I definitely dont want to erase all of my data on my hd if possible...

If you install linux on a hd with windows you can dual boot with linux. If you install a server class installation it will erase your hd. There is no work around. Yet!. However a linux server class installation is totally off the hook!! Would suggest you get a second hard drive and do a disk copy of all you data.
