sendmail not starting

Hi all, My sendmail on linux server suddenly stopped, When i checked /var/run it showed me the process ID. I stopped my sendmail to start it again and now it does not start. I checked the sendmail.pid file at /var/run, could not find. I check the free space at /var partition it showed me 0%. What can be the problem. Thanks in advance.
