sendmail configuration

We have a LAN here.We also have a mail server serving on a linux machine.Ưn our applications we connect to this machine from windows machines and authanticate on SMTP port and send mails on this machine.All things are handled on this machine.Sometime
ago it was very fast.But we had to change our DNS.Now its very poor in efficiency.
I coldnt manage to config sendmail.cf file.
please help.I cant find a useful tutorial.

Setting ident-timout=0 may help, ident is not needed and cause delay.

O Timeout.ident=0s

after do a:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail restart
