Hey everyone. im very new at linux. Just started to try and learn it about 2 days ago at school as part of an internship for my A+ certification. Its RedHat linux 6.2 i believe. but my main question is, how do you change the screen size like in windows. ive looked everywhere to find a place to fix it to have a bigger screen size. seems like its set on 640x480 right now, the default. but how do you enlarge that?? Thanks

P.S. - Sorry for asking such a dumb question.

Usually that's taken care of when you install.

With SuSe 6.2 there are 3 tools to configure X-windows (including the resolution): sax, xf86config, XF86Setup.
With Mandrake 7.1 this can be done under X-windows with DrakConf.

To toggle through available resolutions in Redhat 6.2, hold down CTRL, ALT, and the + or - key (on the numeric keypad). This assumes that X was configured for multiple resolutions when first installed. If not, run Xconfigurator (Redhat's X setup program). It will allow you to select any/all resolutions supported by your vid card and monitor.
