I have sane 1.0.8 with the 0_42_9 version of the plustek driver for my Plustek OpricPro 1200P.
The docs seem to suggest that EPP mode is important and IEEE1284 should be disabled, but the kernel help message for IEEE1284 says it's required for EPP. I use kernel version 2.4.18.
With IEEE1284 support and EPP mode, I can scan a preview, but when I do the full scan, the system locks up (hard, I can't even SSH in). Without EPP, it won't even detect the scanner.
Please help me if this is a common problem or if I'm just misinterepreting the docs. Otherwise I'll e-mail the developers, but I don't want to bug them if it's something simple.

I fixed the lockup problems by forcing SPP mode in modules.conf, but it's REALLY SLOW, so I would still like to get EPP mode working.
I'm using my ECS K7VZA's onboard parallel port, if that matters. There is a BIOS option for parallel port mode, but setting it to EPP mode doesn't make EPP work.
