samba - path to deep error

OS: fedora 3 / winxp
CPU/Ram: p4

I'm trying to copy files from winxp to a samba drive and get the error "path too deep"
some files do copy but I always get the error.....any ideas

According to the Web-

This is not a Samba problem but a network problem at the physical layer.

Set your network card to 100MB full duplex instead of auto.

Change network cards if the problem persists. Stay away from Realtek cards.
