samba on ubuntu and win98

Hi, I have ubuntu 5.10 and samba on it and in shared folders i have few programs. The problem is when i'm tring to run some applications under win98 they don't want to start but when i'm runnig same application under win xp every thing is ok. What to do? LoKo

Are you logging onto the samba server as the same user for both 98 and XP? It may be a limitation of 98, I remember some programs not liking running from a network share. Try mapping the share as a drive and use something like z:\\path\to\app rather than \\server\path\to\app.
