Hi shyam and Tammy,

1) I have tried both enable/disable encrypted password before. Problem still remained

2) Usename and password

WinXP
=====
This is quite funny. I have users and passwords setup at time of installation of WinXP but each time I start WinXP it does not require password. It boots straight forward on clicking each user or administrator.

Coming back to my problem I tried giving it relevant passwords it still did not work. However it did not request for login, only password.

Did you find a solution to this problem. I have the same issue here, I have encrypted passwords enabled yet I am unable to connect to samba from an XP client. The password box just reappears.
