Running Window's Programs on Linux

Wine is your friend (www.winehq.com)
For games use winex (www.transgaming.com)
For office apps, photoshop and various plugins (eg quicktime) use crossover-office (www.codeweavers.com) which is again based on wine.
Not everything will run 100%....but a lot does these days. You are still better off trying to find a linux alternative, just about the only time I need to use windoze/wine is for access databases and dreamweaver.
