I am trying ti load my nvidia vedio card drivers. I have to load them with x off so I reboot in text mode (Level 1 I guess) but the driver complains that I need level 3. when I change to level 3 my keyboard goes nuts types meenless stuff like ^*^ rroo . I have a standard ps2 key board probbley the most common keyboard made. The board works in evey other OS I have ever tried it in including about 10 linux distros and all flavors of Windows.

I think is it terminal session settings. Not sure if I ever understood that. Can you go to different session such as use alt-F1 or crl-alt-F1. Most distos can use f1 to f8 or f9 ish.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10
