Hello!
I am using RH8 with Gnome.
After I installed Star Office 6 my taskbar disappeared. The settings for it was to disappear when the mouse not pointed at it and appear when the mouse pointed at it.

Have you tried the Star Office Patch for Staroffice6 112888-03. It is a 20 MB download but I read somewhere that it will fix a bug in Redhat 8.0. I ran it on 7.3 and on XP with the patch. I removed Star Office on my 7.3 System and installed OpenOffice.org . I figure I will keep one box nonpropratarie completly. I must agrea with Drake they screwed up with 8.0 other than the prettier fonts I much prefer 7.3 . My next distro will be Mandrake or SuSe Take Care Ron
